Bristol Gases, part of the Concorde-Corodex Group, has recently unveiled its first-ever state-of-the-art production plant in Dubai, which manufactures non-refillable gas cylinders.
The move represents a huge expansion of the firm’s capabilities from stocking and trading the product into full-fledged production at its newly expanded laboratory and manufacturing facility based in Al Quoz. For many years, the company has been the key supplier to the laboratory, chemical, oil and gas, and marine industries locally and globally, supplying giant customers such as ENOC, ADNOC, Schlumberger and Baker Hughes.
In a huge development for the local sector, a product categorized as ‘dangerous goods’ is now manufactured locally, at the first of its kind advanced filling center and laboratory for disposable cylinders, reducing the need for a complex global logistics process.
According to Mohanned Awad, Regional Director of Business Development at Concorde – Corodex Group, they firmly believe the move would position Bristol Gases as one of the key suppliers of calibration gas mixtures and disposable calibration gas cylinders in the Middle East region. “The fact that this product is now made locally has major consequences for the industry. With our superior service and local stocking, the lead time for customers is dramatically reduced.”
In a statement, Mark McCann, Business Unit Manager, Bristol Gases, said that they made the decision to expand into production in Dubai due to its geographical location. He added that it positions Bristol Gases as a leading supplier in the entire region and beyond, expanding their capability to supply within the UAE, as well as GCC and Asian countries. “We’re proud to say that ours is the first state-of-the-art filling facility and laboratory for disposable cylinders. We also plan to have hubs in Singapore and Australia for global customers.”
Bristol Gases has an array of industrial and specialty gases for a huge number of industrial, automotive, marine, medical, R&D, and oil and gas applications. Apart from gases, the company also supplies gas-related equipment of the highest quality.
