Axalta Coating Systems, which is one of the leading suppliers of liquid and powder coatings on a global basis has opened an Automotive Refinish Training Centre in Dubai. The Center is meant to provide expert training in the use of Axalta products. These products are used for the repainting of vehicles in body shops. VBack in October 2016, Axalta had formally opened its regional office in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority and the opening of the state of the art refinish facility is the next step in the company’s growth in the regional market.
Xalta’s new facility in Dubai is the company’s 47th such center in the world, and will serve as the venue for hosting world class training programs for body shop, repair and refinish technicians to improve their skills and get training from skilled professionals in the use of the latest coating technologies that are found in the Axalta’s premium refinish coating brands like Standox, Spies Hecker, and Cromax. These and other Axalta brands are currently available in eighteen countries in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.
Speaking at the opening of the new facility, Charlie Shaver, Chairman and CEO of Axalta said, “We are excited to be able to expand our presence in Dubai and the region over such a short time span.”
He added that the opening of the new world-class customer learning and development facility highlighted the company’s commitment to invest in the region and support its customers. The facility will host interactive training and education sessions to help establish a solid foundation and be a source of continuous support and development to vehicle repair specialists. This will both enhance the level of refinishing services and optimize the use of Axalta technologies in the region.
Axalta has consistently invested in product development and technology solutions and this resulted in the development of innovative waterborne refinish coating systems that allows customers to minimize waste while optimizing productivity, profitability and sustainability. The Centre will help customers learn techniques to reduce the time and energy that goes into repainting of vehicles.
Fadi Medlej, Managing Director of MENA for Axalta explained that decisions related to automotive repair are closely linked to global trends that favor the use of environmentally responsible products, as well as allowing refinish technicians to enhance workplace productivity while delivering superior results. He added, “The new facility will meet the needs of refinish technicians who will be trained in the use of all our products, and especially our latest waterborne products, to provide vehicles with a durable and beautiful finish.”
During the launch of the Automotive Refinish Training Centre, Axalta agents, customers and regional partners, and members of the media, participated in a series of hand-on activities including spray painting miniature cars, mixing colors and experiencing the differences between waterborne and solvent borne coatings.
