Premier global Test & Quality Solutions provider Averna has recently unveiled the first all-in-one infotainment RF signal source based on the NI Vector Signal Transceiver.
Boasting the company’s RF and test expertise, the software-defined AST-1000 can produce all common infotainment RF signals, including HD Radio, GPS, DAB, AM/FM, and Sirius/XM. This all-in-one solution is perfect for validating automotive infotainment systems.
Thanks to the AST-1000’s software-defined architecture, this cutting-edge instrument will soon accommodate new signals, including connectivity protocols such as WiFi and Bluetooth, and non-RF signals such as CAN for bus monitoring.
Designed to support all broadcast radio and navigation protocols, the AST-1000 comes with an easy-to-use interface for quick signal generation and easy test setups. It is rackmountable, enabling it to handle lab validation as well as functional and EOL testing. Moreover, it also features the FPGA framework that seamlessly accommodates new signals; thus saving on instrument costs.
In a statement, Alex Pelland, Product Marketing Manager at Averna, said that they have been working closely with the NI team to develop an RF signal source based on the NI Vector Signal Tranceiver, so it is fitting to roll out their AST-1000 during NIWeek 2016. He explained that the AST-1000 is a cutting-edge software-defined instrument, ideally suitable for infotainment testing applications. “It currently supports all common broadcast radio and will soon be able to accommodate new signals, such as navigation (GNSS), audio/video, and connectivity.”
According to Michael Schneider, Principal Product Manager at National Instruments, the Averna AST-1000 is a great example of bringing cutting-edge test solutions to market through their Alliance Partner Network by combining Averna’s extensive industry knowledge with NI’s flexible PXI-based platform. He added that the AST-1000 is sure to appeal to automotive infotainment developers who desire a software-defined instrument that will continue to evolve to cover their ongoing test requirements.
The revolutionary Averna AST-1000 is now available for customers worldwide, and detailed pricing and information are available on request.
