AkzoNobel relaunched its Sikkens range of refinish coatings in the UAE with an upscale portfolio of innovative, advanced and sustainable products in the UAE.
Sikkens was relaunched at a gala event in Dubai that was attended by high-ranking officials of the Dubai Government and automotive industry professionals those from OEMs, body shops, key distributors from the MENA region, and local retailers. AkzoNobel also used the event to announce that Arwani Trading has been appointed as the official distributer for Sikkens in the UAE market.
The Sikkens brand portfolio offers an advanced range of colors which have been developed using the latest technology and meets the needs of bodyshops, retailers, and other customers. Sikkens colors are approved by leading original equipment manufacturers and facilitate superior color matching so that customers can get the shade of their choice without much difficulty. Bodyshops will benefit from faster process times, as they will be able to conduct more business in the same period. Other benefits Sikkens products offer include greater value to users as an outcome of reduced material usage, cost-effectiveness and sustainable features.
Commenting on the relaunch of the Sikkens brand in the UAE, Peter Tomlinson, Managing Director for Vehicle Refinishes & Specialty Coatings of AkzoNobel, said that Sikkens is a world leader in refinish coating, and the company is offering best-in-class technology and an innovative range of products that can meet all the needs of customers, including bodyshop owners with the launch of the brand in the UAE. Sikkens products include the Sikkens Autsurfacer UV which is characterized by excellent sanding quality and dries at the speed of light with UVA-LEDs in less than five minutes or 30 seconds for small spots. The Autowave line that has been upgraded as the new Autowave 2.0 Waterborne and includes new color tones. It is notable for its speed, reliability and sustainability.
AkzoNobel has also launched its Colorvation initiative that integrates digital colour tools, the best digital colour process and a unique database of over 2 million colour formulae. In addition, AkzoNobel has launched Carbeat as a digital tool to improve the communication and production efficiency of individual body shops and multi-shop operators.
To reinforce its commitment to the region, AkzoNobel has opened its first regional Application Training Centre in Dubai. The center has been set up with the goal of raising customer service standards, promoting localized innovation of paint products and to also offer staff training to customers.
