Recently, 3M has joined forces with Festool brand products’ maker, TTS Tooltechnic Systems AG & Co. KG in a goal to provide customers with an all-inclusive surface preparation and finishing system. This system is designed to cater to the global automotive collision repair industry’s requirements for surface preparation and finished products.
It is said that 3M’s Automotive Aftermarket pision (AAD) will likely be the official supplier of 3M and Festool Automotive System’s new products in the market. The premier company plans to roll out the products in the USA and Canada in the second half of the current year.
This strategic partnership is considered a smart move by the company as it will help 3M become the only supplier of this new system, providing it with an edge over its competitors and helping it expand its foothold globally.
Hexa Research estimates the size of the Global Automotive Collision repair market to reach $196 billion four years from now, growing at a CAGR of more than two percent from 2014 to 2020. The quick increase in the automobile fleet and number of vehicles on roads is also anticipated to raise demand for 3M’s products in the global collision repair market. On the basis of this research, Hexa concludes that 3M’s initiative to team up with Festool Automotive Systems using the latter’s best-in-class power tools for offering quality and innovation will help it cater to the escalating customer demand in the Automotive Collision repair market.
3M’s surface preparation and finishing system is eyed to be lucrative for the company apart from helping expand its portfolio.
