AMG – a sequence of letters that undoubtedly makes fans of the Mercedes brand go into raptures. After all, it is the name of the Stuttgart brand’s in-house tuner based in Affalterbach. Accordingly, the vehicles bearing the label always appear as highperformance top models ex works. But despite all the standard power-more power is of course always possible and welcome. The Wuppertal specialists at MANHART Performance
regularly prove this with their creations. The new GLR 700 based on the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S Coupé is no exception. The SUV sports car will be produced as LIMITED 01/10 in an edition of only ten units. As is customary with MANHART, the GLR 700 naturally also gives an indication of its performance with its designation: instead of the standard 510 hp and 700 Nm, the fabulous four-litre, biturbo eight-cylinder under the bonnet now generates a whopping 707 hp and 905 Nm of maximum torque. Not only is the MANHART performance kit with an ECU software remap responsible for this, but there is also a turbo upgrade, a matching intercooler upgrade, a carbon intake and MANHART sports downpipes with 300-cell cats, which, however, do not have TÜV approval and are thus only intended for export. In addition to the enormous increase in power, the transmission also receives an upgrade. On the chassis side, MANHART has also upgraded the GLR 700: The car is about 30 millimetres lower, thanks to a revision of the standard air suspension with new coupling rods. Incidentally, the GLR 700 is instantly recognisable as a MANHART. After all, it stands on the in-house Spider Line alloy wheels in 9×21 and 10.5×21 inches with tyres in 265/40ZR21 and 295/35ZR21. On the car shown, they have a satin black finish with gold rim decoration. Alternatively, any other desired configurations are also possible. Also almost obligatory at MANHART is the vinyl decoration set with gold trim stripes and lettering spread over the black paintwork. The black Panamericana radiator grille is undoubtedly a perfect match. And the interior is equally tastefully refined with all-new leather upholstery including gold accents and an Alcantara headliner.
