Kia has today announced its participation in the highly anticipated FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™ to take place across six venues in Qatar from 30 November – 18 December 2021. As an Official Partner of FIFA, Kia hopes to inspire fans with its FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™ marketing activities, as a preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2022™.
The mobility brand will be offering eight children an opportunity to become the Official Match Ball Carrier (OMBC) of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™. Committed to the brand slogan “Movement that inspires”, Kia has collaborated with Qatar Cancer Society to provide hope, courage and new ideas to children who had been diagnosed with cancer. The inspiring OMBC experience offers a chance to carry out the match ball and lead out the referees and players onto the pitch in front of thousands of spectators. The stories of these children’s memorable experiences will be shared via Kia social media channels for fans of the tournament.
The K8, the first model reflecting the inspiration of the relaunched Kia brand, will also be promoted extensively throughout the competition. Al Bayt Stadium, which hosts the Opening and Final matches, will be showcasing the Kia K8 in its brand activation area, where football fans can engage with the advanced premium sedan before the match. Fans will also be able to spot the K8 advertisement inside the stadium.
Yaser Shabsogh, Chief Operating Officer of Kia’s Regional HQ for the Middle East & Africa, commented: “We at Kia have been a long-standing sponsor of FIFA competitions around the world, and we are proud to extend our alliance with FIFA to the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™ and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. This partnership is a fundamental pillar of our brand as it provides compelling opportunities to build an emotional connection with our customers by sharing the common passion for football.”
Over the course of two and a half weeks, 16 Arab teams will come together to compete in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™, giving spectators the chance to experience the iconic stadiums that will host the FIFA World Cup™ in 2022.
