The extra edition of THE TIRE COLOGNE 2021 with its digital complement TTC@home must be cancelled due to the still major challenges involved in carrying out trade fair events and the continuing travel restrictions as a consequence of the corona pandemic. THE TIRE COLOGNE will now take place again in May 2022 in the usual rhythm. “Koelnmesse and the Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e.V. (BRV/German Tire Retailers and Vulcanisation Trade Association) as the industry sponsor have intensively followed the development of the pandemic and the current political measures, and in particular analysed the potential consequences for the trade fair circumstances of all participants. Unfortunately there has not been a significant improvement in the situation in Germany, Europe and the whole world, as had been hoped. As a consequence of the current situation, THE TIRE COLOGNE extra edition in May will be cancelled and we will return to the cyclical even rhythm”, Oliver Frese, Managing Director of Koelnmesse, explains. Yorick M. Lowin, Managing Director of the BRV, also adds: “Together we are now focusing our attention on the event in the coming year, in order to again position THE TIRE COLOGNE as the leading global industry trade fair.” Principally and irrespective of the special edition for 2021 decided upon following the cancellation of last year’s TTC , THE TIRE COLOGNE will remain in its accustomed rhythm, meaning that the event will always take place in the even calendar years in May/June in Cologne. This early summer date has been firmly anchored in the international tire and wheel industry for decades, closely coordinated with the needs of the industry, and was also adopted with the change to Cologne in 2018 at the express wish of the industry. The team of THE TIRE COLOGNE is immediately starting sales activities for THE TIRE COLOGNE 2022, which will take place from 24 to 26 May 2022 in keeping with the rhythm. THE TIRE COLOGNE targets tire manufacturers, tire retailers, car service providers, workshop outfitters and all companies involved with the tire and car industry. The event is organised by Koelnmesse and the industry sponsor, the Bundesverband Reifenhandel & Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e.V. (BRV/German Tire Retailers and Vulcanisation Trade Association).
