Davanti Tyres has announced that the company has appointed Najib Chakhtoura to establish a permanent presence for the brand in the Middle East and Africa markets. Davanti is a well established tire wholesaler based in the north of England and after deciding in 2012 to venture into the development and manufacture of mid-range tires launched its DX390 and DX640 at the 2015 edition of Autopromotec Bologna. The company now has a strong presence in the UK and global market. As part of Davanti’s strategy for rapid global growth, the tire manufacturer has now appointed Najib Chakhtoura as its Sales Director for the Middle East and Africa markets.
A highly experienced veteran of the global tire industry, Chakhtoura is expected to build strong relationships with Davanti’s current and new distributors to increase the brand’s global reach and sales volume.
Chakhtoura had previously held senior roles for premium brands across the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait and North and East Africa. He is charged with establishing a new regional office for Davanti to launch the brand in new markets across North, East and West Africa, the Gulf States and the wider Middle East.
Commenting on his new role, Najib said that he was very proud to be joining Davanti at this important time. He was excited about developing Africa and Middle East as key markets for Davanti and about the growth of the across the world.
He said, “Having worked in this region for a number of premium brands for more than 34 years I believe Davanti can establish itself as a strong presence here and it is my responsibility to maximize the potential for growth here.
Chakhtoura termed Davanti’s growth from the time it launched its first tires “phenomenal”.
He concluded, “I have a lot of experience in the tire industry and at this stage, to become involved in something this dynamic and exciting, is an opportunity I could not turn down.”
Davanti Tyres’ General Manager Peter Cross said that by appointing Najib Chaktoura , Davanti was highlighting its ambition to venture into new markets and establish a wider presence for its tire range.
“The Middle East was one of the earliest international territories we began to operate in,” he said. “It helped us to springboard the brand out of Europe and build a global base of more than 60 countries for Davanti.
“As we enter a new phase of growth and investment, it is the right time to establish a permanent office for the Middle East and our expansion into Africa.
“Najib was someone we wanted for this role for some time. He is highly respected across the region and his track record and knowledge are second to none. When the opportunity arose to bring him in to launch our Middle East and Africa office we did not hesitate.
“Davanti continues to grow in new markets and Najib will play a key role in that.”
