The sixth edition of the Qatar Motor Show 2016 is all set to showcase the newest automotive models from global brands in Doha. The five day show will begin tomorrow at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. It is hosted by the Qatar Tourism Authority and is jointly organized by ELAN and Fira Barcelona. Fira is a leading organizer of trade and industry shows based in Spain while ELAN is a media and entertainment company. Billed as the largest and most exciting annual automotive show in the region, this year’s edition of the Qatar Motor Show will feature several regional and local launches from prominent brands including BMW, Bosch, Cadillac, Castrol, Continental, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Ziebart.
Over 40 exhibitors from the automotive industry will use the Qatar Motor Show as the platform to offer showroom and hands-on experiences for visitors from Qatar and the wider GCC region. Top end automotive brands will display not only their vehicles belonging to the sports, luxury and mid-range segments but will also focus on their branded lifestyle goods.
Entry is free to visitors but those who register online by visiting www.qatarmotorshow.gov.qa will get the benefit of fast-track entry. Many exclusive gifts are up for grabs through raffle draws like hotel stays at the Marriot Marquis. Visitors will also get a chance to see internationally acclaimed dignitaries and experience F1 simulator rides on Evotek Technology.
Special invitees to the show include luminaries from the automotive world like renowned automotive designer Horacio Pagani, the Founder and CEO of Pagani Automobili. In his capacity as the creator of the award winning models like the Huayra and the Zonda, he is definitely someone who can offer visitors a unique take on the industry. Other celebrities who have been invited to the show include the nation’s professional racers who will interact with visitors at special meet and greet appearances.
One notable feature that has been added to this year’s edition of the show is an interactive and experiential outdoor fan zone that all visitors can enjoy, irrespective of their age. Located outside the convention center, it will offer numerous activities including test drive experiences, 4×4 off-road driving demonstrations from Nissan, and motorbike stunts and displays from the Red Bull team. Qatar’s Ministry of Interior’s Traffic Department is planning to offer many interactive activities targeting children at its booth.
Alongside the show, the show’s partner Red Bull will host the opening competition of the Red Bull Car Park Drifting Championship 2016 at the Corniche on 29 January. Those who are unable to attend the event at the Corniche will be able to view the livestream of the contest in the outdoor fanzone. Other auxiliary events associated with the show include daily parades of unique and exciting cars that will travel around the West Bay.
Qatar Motor Show is hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority as part of a strategy to position Qatar as a premium business events destination and in the past five years has become one of the most anticipated regional consumer and trade shows on Qatar’s annual events calendar.
