There is a new option now for those who want to learn driving in Saudi Arabia. Virtual Driver Interactive, Inc. (VDI), which is a leading provider of simulation-based training solutions for commercial and education applications, has announced its Virtual Driving Essentials driving simulator or Virtual DE is now available in the kingdom. Saudi had recently announced that as the outcome of a recent royal decree, the ban on women driving will be lifted in June 2018. The program is making its debut in Saudi Arabia at a time when it is expected that there will be a huge surge in the number of people seeking driver’s education after the royal decree lifting the ban on women driving.
Virtual DE is not just a driving simulator, but is a complete, self-paced driver training program for novice drivers. The program offers a robust curriculum that covers all aspects of driver training from basic driving skills to advanced topics like distracted driving. Virtual DE essentially provides an immersive learning experience that permits new drivers to practice critical driving skills in a safe environment, and ensures they are really ready to tackle dangerous traffic on the road. Using the software, new drivers can get in many hours of practice without even having access to a vehicle.
The software comprises several innovative features like real-time violation tracking, pre and post assessment drives, and state of the art reporting systems. The driver training program is both knowledge and skills-based. It effectively combines engaging curriculum with the best available graphics and simulation technology. Using Virtual DE, new drivers can learn from their mistakes in the virtual world rather than in the physical one.
The key components of the Virtual DE training program are tracking and reporting. Virtual DE includes Vision, which is a powerful reporting system, and helps keep tabs on every aspect of the progress made by the individual students and of the class as a whole. Using Vision, the administrator of the school or training facility can track each driver, view real-time reports and make accurate judgements of the student’s capability to drive on the road. It would provide confirmation that a student has mastered the skills needed for safe driving before a student is permitted to drive on the road.
VDI has successfully incorporated Virtual DE as part of the curriculum in public and private driving institutes, government organizations, and law enforcement facilities in different parts of the world. The program can be operated using a wide range of hardware platforms including portable desktop units and full-size trainers. Hence, it can be customized to train tens, hundreds or even thousands of new drivers.
Andre Luongo, VP of International Business Development at Virtual Driver Interactive said that many countries have high crash rates and are engaged in the search for practical and scalable solutions. Simulation training provides novice drivers with a unique opportunity to learn the nuances of driving in a safe and efficient manner.”
