MG officially launched the all-new MG6 sedan in the Middle East. The vehicle which is now in its third generation has been thoroughly revamped and the new 2019 MG6 model comes with a wide range of premium and sporty features. It delivers just the right combination of efficiency, performance and class-leading comfort.
The new MG6 sports design elements that are normally seen on luxury models including a ‘Star Rider’ grill, carbon fibre detailing and LED headlamps with progressive indicators which are inspired by the London Eye. The sporty look is attenuated by a large ‘MG’ badge, chrome touches and a twin-exhaust with the 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with low rolling resistance tyres completing the bold look.
The sporty theme is replicated when it comes to the interiors with a cockpit that features the latest technological features including a large 8-inch full-colour touch-screen infotainment system that can be operated through controls on the leather steering wheel. Other standard features include Apple CarPlay, push start button, keyless entry, digital dials, six speakers, tire pressure monitoring system and rear parking camera.
There is plenty of room in the cabin which comes with as many as 22 practical stowage spaces. The comfort level is ramped up with the use of vibrant dual-tone black and red leather upholstery which wraps around the doors and the dashboard. Climate settings include dual zone air conditioning for a greater level of comfort for all the occupants in the front and rear cabins. The boot has 424 liters of space for the luggage and this is extendable to 1170 liters with the rear seats folded down. Hence, there is plenty of room for cargo.
The MG6 is powered by a 1.5L petrol engine and can go from 0-100 kph in just seven seconds. It rates highly when it comes to fuel economy with a range of 100km in under six litres of fuel. Divers can opt for any one of four driving modes based on their preferences – Eco, Normal, Sports, and Individual. The class-leading 7-speed dual clutch transmission and five-star CNCAP rating are other notable characteristics about the model.
Commenting on the launch of the new MG6, Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor’s parent company SAIC Motor Middle East, said that the all-new MG6 will appeal to a range of customers across the region, especially when it comes to younger buyers seeking value for money in a stylish, technologically-advanced package. He said that the vehicle takes the quality and styling of the model to a new level, providing customers with the kind of features they can expect to find on premium automotive brands.
Lee concluded, “Since SAIC Motor’s acquisition of MG Motor, and as a Global Top 500 company, we have opened a new chapter for this British-born brand. The introduction of the all-new MG6 comes hot on the heels of the launch of two SUV models earlier this year – the MG RX5 compact SUV and the MG ZS SUV – as well as the second-generation MG GS. With these models joining the existing MG 360, we now have a very competitive and appealing line-up to offer our discerning customers in the Middle East.”
The MG6 is now available in MG Motor showrooms across the Middle East.
