High end brands like Lamborghini and Porsche have added tremendously to their brand value and created an emotional connection with their customers by setting up performance driving schools. Lexus is another high-performance brand that has recently joined the bandwagon. The Lexus Performance Driving School will consist of lessons in high-performance driving for motorists across the United States.
The driving school will offer three kinds of courses. The most basic course is called the Express Experience. The free course consists of classroom training followed by driving on an autocross course and lead-follow laps on the race track.
The Half-Day Experience will cost USD 495, and in addition to the basic course includes training in braking and on the slalom and skidpad. Other components fast laps on board with a professional instructor.
The highest level named the Full-Day program will cost USD 895 and will involve training in racing lines and driving theory. It will last for a whole day.
All the training sessions will be held using Lexus F Sport and full-on F performance models, including the IS350 F Sport, RC 350 F Sport, RC F and GS F. While the RC 350 F Sport and the ISS350 F Sport have 3.5-liter V6 engines with an output of 306 hp, the RCF and GS F vehicles have 5.0-liter V8 engines that produce 467 hp.
The lessons offered as part of the Lexus Performance School will be held as road show with the team visiting Palm Beach International Raceway in Jupiter, Florida, from September 30 to October 2; the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois, from October 7-9; the New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville October 27-29; and the Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, California, from February 10-12, 2017.
