Engineering students in the UAE will get a once in a lifetime shot at a career in Formula One through Infiniti. The company has begun its search for the best and brightest among undergraduate engineering students through the launch of the 2016 edition of the 2016 Infiniti Engineering Academy. Students selected for the program will have a chance to hone their automotive engineering skills in the Formula One arena with a factory F1® team and the Infiniti brand.
Infiniti recently became a technical partner of the Renault Sport Formula One team and believes in sourcing the freshest, most creative engineering talent in order to have an edge in developing innovative technology for its racers and customers. The new partnership with the Renault Sport team has the automotive to Formula One training program for young automotive engineers.
Tommaso Volpe, Global Director, Infiniti Motorsport said that Infiniti is striving to improve the Academy every year and the program has the scope to offer six talented engineers the chance to get a coveted engineering placement with the Renault Sport Formula One™ Team as part of Infiniti’s Technical partnership with the team.
The selected engineers will spend six months at the Infiniti Technical Center for Europe (Cranfield, UK) and will work alongside the Renault Sport Formula One™ Team at the their base in Enstone, Oxfordshire which has advanced technical facilities for another six months. Through both Infiniti and Renault, they will get to have an exciting 12 months at the forefront of motorsport engineering and automotive engineering.
The students selected for the program are expected to have a good mix of academic and professional experience and those with a background in aerodynamics, mechanical design, electronics, and Composite Design will have an edge.
The new partnership with the Renault Sport Formula One team will give the six engineers selected through the 2016 edition of the Academy plenty of opportunities for knowledge transfer and a wide range of experiences.
