Hyundai has revealed plans to reinforce its range of SUVS in Africa and the Middle East with the new-generation Santa Fe which will arrive in the region in September. Hyundai bills the new Santa Fe as a model that offers customers the most advanced safety features, striking design and great value-for-money. It will further reinforce Hyundai’s strong heritage when it comes to SUVs, which dates back to the launch of the first Santa Fe in 2000.
The Hyundai Santa Fe is the Korean automaker’s flagship SUV. It is notable for its premium design, spaciousness and its advanced technological features. All these features combine to make the vehicle a very comfortable ride that is expected to attract more customers as it would enhance the quality of their daily life.
Commenting on the new Santa Fe, Mike Song, Hyundai’s Head of Operations for Africa and the Middle East said that the latest model of the Santa Fe would continue its long success story both globally and in markets across the MEA region. He called the Santa Fe one of Hyundai’s iconic models that had helped the company to establish its reputation in the SUV segment. According to Song, the fourth generation of the model will set new benchmarks in the market in terms of comfort, safety and technology.
The all-new Santa Few had made its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year, and its design is similar to Hyundai’s new SUV family look with its modern elements like the Composite Light and the Cascading Grille. The most notable features of the vehicle’s external appearance are its bold and athletic look and its wide and muscular stance. It has refined lines that further reinforce the model’s reputation as Hyundai’s top SUV.
In Africa and Middle East, the new Hyundai Santa Fe will be available with three kinds of engines – a 2.2 liter turbo-diesel, 2.4 liter GDI petrol, or 3.5 liter MPI petrol. Depending on the individual market, the transmission could be either a 6-speed or 8-speed automatic transmission. Customers can opt to have an advanced four-wheel drive system, which would distribute the torque and the braking power to the front and rear wheels variably, and would offer better grip and stability when cornering.
The Santa Fe will come with industry-first safety features and a best-in-class safety package, part of the Hyundai SmartSense active safety and driving assistance technologies. Another notable feature in the new Santa Fe is a full head-up display that projects relevant driving and safety information directly onto the windshield, so that the driver can focus more on the road ahead.
Connectivity features available in the new Santa Fe include the optional 8-inch infotainment system that integrates all navigation, media and connectivity features. This infotainment system supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Display Audio function allows passengers to switch their smartphone’s content onto the system’s 7-inch display via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
