A gold-plated car worth $1 million proved to be the center of attraction at the 2016 edition of Automechanika Dubai 2016, which is being held from May 8 to 10 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Named Godzilla, Kuhl Racing exhibited the customized gold-plated Nissan R35 GT-R to showcase their expertise in tuning and customizing cars. The 2016 version of the Nissan GT-R is one of the most striking SUVs on the market currently, especially with the addition of the new 20-spoke wheels.
The eye-catching car was the outcome of close collaboration between Kuhl Racing, Artis, and master engraver Takahiko Izawa. While the performance of the 3.8-liter V6 twin turbo 545 hp engine was enhanced to increase the torque and the horsepower. The engine is paired with an advanced paddle-shifted sequential six-speed dual clutch transmission, with drivers having the option to choose the mode and drive the car speeds similar to that of race cars. The sequential-shifting transaxle features separate wet clutches for the odd (1,3,5) and even (2,4,6) gears and pre-selects the next highest and next lowest gear for quick shifts.
Other distinctive features included precision handling, a reinforced body, modifications to improve aerodynamics and of course, the special gold paint sheen for a special touch of luxury. Artist Izawa used special Takumi technology for the custom paint job and the subtly textured finish is truly one of a kind.
