Dr. Hamid Haqparwar who is currently holding the role of Director Sales and Marketing at BMW Group Middle East, will be taking over as the new Managing Director of BMW Group Middle East from October 1st, 2018.
Dr. Haqparwar is a veteran of the automotive industry and has extensive experience in international background. He started his career at BMW with a stint at BMW Group headquarter and has since moved on to different senior management roles within BMW. Before he joined BMW Group Middle East, Dr. Haqparwar was the Director Sales and Director Sales Channel Development for BMW India. His prior experience in the Middle East includes stints as Sales Area Manager and the Head of Product Management in the region from 2008 to 2012. As part of his new role, he will oversee the BMW Group business and sales across 13 markets in the region. Dr. Haqparwar graduated in Business Administration from the university of Mannheim, Germany, after which he got an MBA degree from Western Carolina University in the United States. He completed his PhD from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Dr. Haqparwar will replace Johannes Seibert who left BMW AG on July 31, 2018. Commenting on the appointment of Dr. Haqparwar, Hendrik von Kuenheim, Senior Vice President Region Africa, Russia, Importer Markets Eastern Europe and Middle East said that he was delighted to welcome Dr. Hamid Haqparwar on board in his new role as Managing Director of BMW Group Middle East. Kuenheim went on to express his confidence in Dr.Haqparwar’s in-depth knowledge of brand, product and dealer development as well as his expertise in sales and marketing which he felt would help to further reinforce the BMW and MINI brands in the region.
Kuenheim felt that Dr.Haqparwar’s long-standing experience and dedication to the market will help to drive continued business success of BMW Group in the region. He concluded by thanking Johannes Seibert for his many years of personal commitment at BMW Group Middle East. Under his supervision, BMW achieved record sales in a very challenging environment.
