Abdul Wahid Al Rostamani, one of the leading businessmen in the UAE passed away on November in Rashid Hospital in Dubai at the age of 83. He was the founder and chairman of the AW Rostamani group. Arabian Automobiles, which is the flagship company of the AW Rostamani Group is the exclusive dealer for leading automotive brands like Renault, Nissan, Infiniti, Total and Elf lubricants in Dubai and the Northern emirates.
According to a statement issued by the company, his passing was sudden and unexpected. He was buried on November 2 at Al Quoz cemetery in Dubai, in accordance with Islamic custom.
Mr. Rostamani initially started out in his early twenties with a small book store and gradually diversified his businesses to establish one of the largest and most well-known business groups in the UAE which was involved in many sectors like automotive, construction, real estate, travel, logistics and lifestyle. The company has over 4000 employees.
Speaking about Mr. Rostamani, AW Rostamani Automotive chief executive Michel Ayat said, said, “It is with great sadness that we announce today the passing of a father and leader Abdul Wahid Rostamani. He was incredibly proud of AW Rostamani Group and all of its employees, and we will all miss him greatly.His drive to excellence, determination, can-do spirit and commitment to everyone in this organisation and it will inspire and stay with us always.
He went on to extend his sympathy to Mr. Rostamani’s family on behalf of the company’s board of directors, executive management team and employees. AW Rostamani offices and showrooms were closed on November 2 as a mark of respect, reopened on Sunday.
