Al-Futtaim Motors Marks UAE National Day with Week Long Celebration

Al-Futtaim Motors is marking the occasion of the UAE’s 44th anniversary by hoisting multiple national flags at all its Toyota, Lexus and Hino facilities across the UAE.

First celebrated on 2nd December, 1971, the UAE National Day marks the nation’s independence and the federation of the seven emirates under the rule of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of the UAE and father of the nation. The country has witnessed unprecedented growth in view of the fact that it is one of the youngest nations in the world and has turned into a logistics and tourism hub in the GCC region.

2015 also marks 60 years since the establishment of Al-Futtaim Motors, which began as a small time importer of a handful of Land Cruisers and Toyopets and has now grown into the largest automotive distributor in the UAE thus playing a crucial role in the development of the country.

In the past six decades, Al-Futtaim Motors has become one of the UAE large scale employers, and became a key player in the transportation sector by providing mobility solutions to inpiduals, private businesses and governmental and municipal organisations.

Saud Abbasi, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Motors, commented on the occasion: “For six decades, we have worked tirelessly to help build what has become one of the fastest growing and most recognized nations the world’s over. As the automotive leader in the UAE, we are committed to usher in the future of mobility in this great nation.”

Yousuf Ali Al Raeesi, General Manager, Government Relations, Health Security, Safety and Environment at Al-Futtaim Motors, explained the significance of the National Day: “For 44 years, the UAE has grown to become the region’s business and tourism hub, placing a great emphasis on developing the leaders of the future and setting many precedents across industries. Under the leadership of His Highness Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Al-Futtaim Motors is looking forward to another 60 years of growth and prosperity.”

Cake cutting ceremonies were held at all Al-Futtaim Motors facilities. A gala event was held at the Toyota showroom in Dubai Festival City which was attended by Len Hunt, President of Al-Futtaim Automotive, and dignitaries from Dubai Police.

Starting today, November 25th 2015, all Al-Futtaim Motors Toyota, Lexus and Hino facilities will hold a week-long celebration until December 3rd that will include commemorative gifts for associates and customers.
