In keeping with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, AGMC, which is the exclusive dealer for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates, joined hands with the Emirates Society for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation, to conduct an exhibition of exquisite calligraphy paintings in both the Sharjah and Dubai showrooms of AGMC. The exhibitions in Dubai and Sharjah were formally opened to the public by renowned author H.E Mohammad Al-Murr and by H.E. Sheikha Nawar al Qassimi in Sharjah respectively.
During the course of the event, both the Rolls Royce showrooms turned into Arabic art galleries featuring works by talented calligraphers drawn from different parts of the UAE like Khalid Ali Al Jallaf, Chairman of the Emirates Society for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation, who has previously exhibited his work at Majlis Gallery.
Viusitors to the showroom also had an opportunities to watch the calligraphy artisists in action as they created their intricate paintings, and to appreciate the painstaking precision that is involved in creating their works of art just like the level of meticulous detail that is needed to hand paint the distinctive Rolls-Royce coachline.
Commenting on the exhibitions, Mamdouh Khairallah, General Manager of Rolls-Royce AGMC said, “We are honored to have had the opportunity to showcase such magnificent artists and Arabic calligraphy artwork to both our discerning clientele as well as the general public during the Holy month of Ramadan.”
He concluded by saying that this is the second consecutive year that AGMC has hosted such a calligraphy exhibition and this time round, it was extended to the Rolls-Royce showroom in Sharjah. AGMC is planning to make this an annual event as part of its commitment to promote local calligraphy and artists and thus help increase awareness of this traditional art form.
