With the premium crossover segment growing at an unprecedented rate, customers are becoming increasingly more demanding. Driven by innovation and technology, buyers today expect more from their vehicles than ever before – from top of the range connectivity to safety and convenience, they prefer their crossover packed with modern features that will better enhance their driving experience. Taking these ever-growing customer demands into consideration; the 2020 GMC Terrain delivers amply on that front.
Safety first
The 2020 Terrain boasts an expanded range of available active safety technologies that are designed to enhance driver awareness. These technologies can even help make it easier to park and maneuver the vehicle at low-speeds. The 2020 Terrain uses radar and camera-based adaptive technologies that alert the driver of potential crash threats, enabling them to take preventative action.
GMC has beefed up the safety tech in the Terrain with an HD Rear Vision Camera and Surround Vision (exclusive to Denali only) and Front Pedestrian Braking available in the Driver Alert Package II.
Furthermore, there is a number of active safety features such as Forward Collision Alert with Following Distance Indicator, which can alert the driver if they are too close to the vehicle in front. The vehicle also includes Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, making lane changes safer.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert is another active technology that makes the 2020 Terrain safer around town. Using sensors, the 2020 Terrain can detect if there is an approaching vehicle behind it while reversing out of a parking bay and onto the road. The driver is alerted of a potential collision through the Safety Alert Driver Seat, which vibrates to alert the driver of an approaching car and its direction of travel, enabling them to take appropriate action.
These active safety technologies are further bolstered by the addition of six standard air bags, including frontal driver and passenger, roof rail-mounted head curtain (for front and rear outboard seat) and thorax side-impact air bags (for front seats), making it one of the safest and most tech-packed vehicles in its class.
Connectivity and convenience
The 2020 Terrain’s refined interior makes a statement and offers several connectivity and convenience technologies that customers expect from a premium vehicle. For instance, standard active noise cancellation makes progress quieter by reducing outside noise and delivering a luxurious drive experience.
Amping up the premium experience is an available Bose premium 7-speaker sound system that delivers impeccable audio quality. Additionally, to keep passengers connected on the move, the Terrain comes with a 7-inch and available 8-inch-diagonal infotainment systems, featuring compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, customers can connect their smart phones with the infotainment system and carry out a variety of tasks such as stream music, make hands-free phone calls and even use voice commands to control the various features of the car. The Siri eyes-free voice recognition system can be used with natural speech commands making it intuitive and easy-to-use.
Overall, the 2020 GMC Terrain is a feature-packed premium crossover SUV that delivers safety, convenience and connectivity through class-leading technology.
