Saudi Arabia Opens the World’s First Public Formula E Karting Track in Abha

SEVEN has launched an indoor electric karting attraction in Abha, built with ABB Formula E. Three more locations are planned across the Kingdom.

What’s new
Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN), owned by Qiddiya Investment Company, has opened a Formula E-themed karting venue at SEVEN ABHA on 28 September 2026. It is the first attraction of its kind anywhere in the world that the public can visit. It was created with ABB Formula E, the electric racing championship.

What visitors get
An indoor track measuring 428 metres
Electric karts for adults and juniors
Two-seater karts, so younger or nervous riders can go along with someone
Safety systems designed for guests of different ages and skill levels

More than racing
Away from the track, the venue has interactive areas and displays about Formula E. They cover the championship’s history, the technology behind electric racing and how the sport approaches sustainability. The idea is to get visitors curious about technology while they have fun.

What’s next
Abha is the first of four SEVEN locations that will get a Formula E track. The next ones are planned for:

SEVEN Al Hamra in Riyadh
Dammam
Al Kharj

What the partners said
SEVEN’s chief operating officer, Essam Aljubair, described the opening as a step towards bringing accessible, high-quality entertainment to communities across the Kingdom, including the Aseer Region. He also hopes the tracks will help spot young Saudi talent, and that a Saudi driver will one day race in Formula E.

Formula E’s CEO, Jeff Dodds, said the venue gives new audiences a hands-on way to learn about the sport. He noted that its fan base in the region has grown strongly in recent years.

The bigger picture
The attraction is part of SEVEN’s plan to build entertainment destinations that mix Saudi-developed concepts with experiences created alongside global brands. It supports the growth of the Kingdom’s entertainment sector under Saudi Vision 2030.
