Yokohama Tire earned the prestigious iF design award for its ultra-high performance (UHP) summer tire, the ADVAN Apex. The Advan Apex tire won the award in iF Design’s product category and showcases Yokohama expertise of several years in the design of UHP (Ultra High Performance) tires. The winners for the iF Design award are chosen by a 78-member panel of independent experts based on stringent criteria related to aesthetic and emotional appeal, social responsibility and production efficiency, brand positioning and fit for the target group, social responsibility and product efficiency as well as functionality, value and usability.
The Y-rated Apex tire which was developed for the North American market is available at the retail level in 44 sizes, which range from 17- to 20-inch fitments. This is not the first such award that the Advan Apex tire has won. The tire had also won the 2020 SEMA Best New Tire runner-up award.
The Advan Apex tire is takes to the next level the legacy of Yokohama’s iconic UHP tires like the A008, AVS Intermediate, AVS Sport and ADVAN Sport V105 tires. It offers enhanced wet and dry performance, while at the same time providing a refined driving experience for a wide range of sports cars, high-end performance vehicles and American muscle cars.
Commenting on the award, Andrew Briggs, Yokohama’s vice president of marketing and product management said that it was very gratifying to the see the ADVAN Apex win another award. He said that the award attested to Yokohama’s new product development, continuous performance improvements and overall quality.
Briggs concluded, “We’re honored the judges for iF Design bestowed the Apex with this esteemed award.”
