Bentley Motors has started the year and the decade on a glorious note, with its EXP 100 being recognized as the ‘Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year’ at the 35th edition of the iconic French Festival Automobile International. Bentley’s futuristic centenary concept car represents the British brand’s take on how grand touring could look in 2035.
Festival Automobile International, which is held every year in the heart of Paris at the UNESO world heritage site, Hotel des Invalides is known as the world’s ‘Automotive Fashion Week’. During the event, the members of the public were able to see the concept car on display.
Commenting on the award, Stefan Sielaff, Director of Design at Bentley Motors, said that the EXP 100 GT is a lot more than a concept car. It is the brand’s vision for the future of sustainable luxury mobility. The EXP 100 GT delivers just the right combination of performance, technology and craftsmanship, while also providing users with a ride that is beautiful, immersive and an emotionally intelligent experience. He concluded by saying that the Bentley team was delighted to receive such a prestigious recognition from the much admired festival.
Eminent figures from the design, fashion and automotive industries attended the award ceremony. The jury for the award comprised leading experts from the design world and they unanimously selected the EXP 100 GT based on its future vision of luxury, which is balanced with sustainability.
The design and features of the Bentley EXP 100 GT was inspired by the company’s insight into desires of its intelligent, forward-thinking customers. The car is beautifully styled. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used to position the car as a vehicle as a venue for creating, experiencing and capturing extraordinary human experiences and emotions.
The Bentley EXP 100 GT is Bentley’s concept of how a Grand Tourer should be in 2035 and leverages an all-electric platform. The vehicle has a presence and impressive exterior proportions which are evocative of many of Bentley’s historic Grand Tourers but also has many technological features that make this vehicle the Grand Tourer of the future. The outcome is a vehicle that matches is commensurate with Bentley’s status as the world’s most sought after luxury brand.
The materials used in the cabin are highly luxurious and contribute to the creation of a harmonious environment that is meant to enhance the well-being of its passengers. The meticulously designed cabin has been seamlessly integrated with the brand’s unique AI, which is known as the Bentley Personal Assistant. The Bentley Personal assistant helps the car’s occupants to enhance and curate their Grand Tour experiences.
Sustainable innovation was another key concern when it came to the design of the Bentley EXP 100 GT experience. The car was created to enhance awareness of the world outside, with an intelligently-curated collection of materials that include 5,000 year old Copper Infused Riverwood, Compass exterior paint derived from recycled rice husks, 100 percent textile from wine making which is a replica of real leather, British Farmed Wool carpets and embroidered cotton interior surfaces.
