One of the largest tire manufacturers in the world, Giti Tire expanded its presence in the Middle East with a successful inaugural Middle East motorsports tour. All the vehicles which participated in the Formula 3 races at the renowned Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Autodrome sported Giti branding and GitiCompete GTR1 tires. Giti thus managed to bring Formula 3 Asian Championship action to the Middle East for the first time. The tires demonstrated excellent performance in a field that was notable for its high level of competition and challenging racing conditions. The series is meant to promote top racing talent drawn from all parts of the world. In line with Giti’s tagline of “Power Up Tomorrow’s Racing Leaders”, the company plans to be a part of Formula 2 and even F1 races in thei future.
The unexpected heavy rain proved to a tough challenge in the race held in Dubai, but it did give vehicles a chance to use Giti’s rain tires and highlight how Giti tires were able to overcome water and sand conditions on the track. Conditions were a lot better in Abu Dhabi, with the weather proving to be quite mild and comfortable and just right for a hotly contested race on the pristine Yas Marina track.
Motorists who attended the race had a chance to see how Giti tires are put through the toughest R&D and testing conditions to provide drivers with a drive that they can trust.
Dutch driver, Joey Alders emerged as the lead driver after the races in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with Jack Doohan in second place.
