Nexen Enters Off-Road Market with Roadian MTX Xtreme

Nexen’s subsidiary in the US, Nexen Tire USA has entered the off-road tire market with the launch of the Nexen Roadian MTX tire. The tire sports the “beast” sidewall design on one side while the other side comes with a “machine” pattern. Nexen had launched the tire at the 2017 SEMA show in Las Vegas, where the tire was lauded for its design and function.

The dual sidewalls sporting distinctive designs allows customers to choose the look that matches more closely with their vehicle and lifestyle. The tire has 3-ply sidewall protection which enhances its stability and durability in view of the off-road terrain it will be mostly used on and the heavy loads it would support. The Nexen Roadian MTX tire has burly lugs for maximum grip and comes with patented, optimized block positions which minimize tire noise when switching from mud trails to asphalt roads.

Another feature of the MTX is an F-load on all flotation sizes and a maximum air pressure of 80 psi for giving the tire better towing capacity, higher load capacity and functioning TPMS sensors. The tire has a reinforced rubber belt that gives it the ability to support higher loads over a range of applications. It also has a rim protector bar on sizes that are 20-inch and up in order to keep the rims safe from curb-rub or rock abrasion.

Kyle Roberts, senior director of marketing for Nexen Tire USA said that extreme off-roaders expect a lot from their equipment – and especially from their tires. This is why Nexen developed the Roadian MTX tire series for superior performance in a wide range of scenarios that both offroaders and everyday motorists would appreciate. He went on to add that MTX tires not only look great and are highly versatile but can successfully overcome a variety of extremely challenging off-road situations.

The Roadian MTX is now available in 12 sizes ranging from 265/75R16 up to 295/55R20 – with the larger 33, 35 and 37-inch sizes due to become available from mid-April.
