Nexteer Automotive, a leading company in the field of intuitive motion control has opened a new factory in Bekasi, West Java in Indonesia. The new factory is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nexteer, and will mainly specialize in the manufacture of brush column-assist electric power steering (CEPS) and began to ramp up operations in July.
This factory which has a floor space of almost 3,000 meters is Nexteer’s 12th factory in the Asia Pacific region. The plant will serve as the source for electric power steering (EPS) product and service for the Indonesian subsidiary of SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile (SGMW).
In March this year, Nexteer received the Overseas Pioneering Award from SGMW for its safe, on-time delivery of projects and high-quality products. The opening of the new factory is another important milestone for Nexteer, especially as it comes in the wake of the successful inauguration of Wuling Motors on July.11th with production of the first Confero S type car.
Commenting on the new factory, Li Jun, Chief Operating Officer of Nexteer Automotive Asia Pacific said that the company was exploring the opportunities and potential of ASEAN markets. He said that Nexteer would continue to leverage its deep and broad range of products, expertise of 110 years, responsiveness, continuous quest for innovation and faster-to-market product development in the future to become a trustworthy manufacturing partner for automotive companies across the globe.
