Statistics show that on average, 37 children are killed yearly from heatstroke after being left in hot cars, wherein 661 children have lost their lives from heatstroke in an 18-year period. Of those 661, 54 percent were forgotten by their guardian or caregiver. Even with the windows cracked, the temperature in the car interior can climb 125 degrees in just a few minutes. Fatality occurs when the body’s core temperature reaches 113 degrees. Like humans, pets left in the backseat are also predisposed to heatstroke.

These statistics are alarming eye-openers that call for solution. Hence, Rear View Safety has developed the RVS-BLB Brilliant Backseat Reminder System, which is designed to remind drivers to take children, pets, or any valuables out of the backseat of their car.

Simplicity makes this cutting-edge system stand out. When the backdoor is opened before starting the car, the system senses that something or someone was put in the rear of the car. The moment the driver arrives at the destination and leaves the vehicle, the RVS-BLB activates a moderate audio alarm to remind them about the cargo. If this alarm is not turned off within 40 seconds, the system sets off the vehicle’s horn to get attention.
