The BMW Group is set to dazzle at the Geneva Auto Show, which will be held from March 3 to 13. The company will use the show as the platform to hold the global debut of the BMW M760Li xDrive, the BMW 7 Series plug-in hybrid and the BMW i8 Protonic Red Edition.
The new BMW M760Li xDrive will set a new benchmark in the sporty luxury sedan category. It is positioned as the flagship performance variant of the BMW 7 Series model range. Powered by the first ever M Performance TwinPower Turbo 12-cylinder petrol engine,it has an output of 600 hp and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, while yielding 12.6 l/100 km in for both city and highway driving. CO2 emissions are kept relatively low at 294 g/km in combined mode.

All BMW plug-in hybrid vehicles will come with the new iPerformance model designation from July 2016, signifying the transfer of technology from BMW i to the BMW core brand. At the Geneva Motor Show, the German manufacturer will showcasing the first plug-in hybrid variants of the new BMW 7 Series like the BMW 740e iPerformance. The iPerformance models will come with features like battery cells, electronic control systems and battery cells. Externally, the visual refinements include elements like the BMW i logo on the front side panel, BMW i-style blue elements in the kidney grille and wheel hubs, and an eDrive logo on the C-pillar. When it comes having a technical edge, customers can make use of the BMW i 360° ELECTRIC range of products and services, which include the BMW i Wallbox.
The new BMW M2 highlights BMW’s range of M Performance Parts. The company offers a wide range of components for the compact high-performance model in order to differentiate its design and too provide users with a sportier drive.
The BMW i8 Protonic Red Edition which will be making its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show is a special-edition model to highlight the success of the i8, which is the frontrunner in the market when it comes to premium electric vehicles. In fact, the BMW i3 is the only car in the world with a certified carbon footprint. The certification was awarded by a globally renowned body like TÜV SÜD.
Other technologies that BMW will be demonstrating to visitors at the Geneva Auto Show include On-Street Parking Information intelligent search function as part of the BMW ConnectedDrive suite. This is a feature that can put an end to parking woes by helping drivers to locate a free parking space in urban areas.
