Audi has selected Apollo Tyres’ latest Vredestein Ultrac and Sportrac summer tyres as original equipment (OE) for the Audi A1 Sportback, with factory fitment on selected models for the European market. Produced at Apollo Tyres’ facility in Hungary, the tyres chosen by Audi will be supplied in two sizes — 15-inch for the Sportrac (185/65 R15 V) and 17-inch for the Ultrac (215/45 R17 W).
A growing number of car manufacturers are choosing Apollo Tyres’ premium range of Vredestein brand products as standard fit, strengthening the tyre brand’s position within the European OE segment.
Audi and Apollo Tyres collaborated on a tyre development programme with a focus on minimising rolling resistance. This facilitated the selection of Vredestein tyres that optimise the Audi A1 Sportback’s efficiency and dynamic characteristics, and also supports Apollo Tyres ongoing research and development activities for OE fitment products.
Both, Vredestein Ultrac and Sportrac summer tyres deliver superior driving dynamics in wet and dry conditions, as well as high standards of comfort and a quieter ride – all key priorities for the premium automaker. To support Audi A1 Sportback customers in the long term, both the Ultrac and Sportrac will also be available in the replacement market in Europe.
