Yokohama Rubber to Debut “ADVAN A052” as the Ultimate Street Sport Tire

Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., has announced that it will soon be selling what it calls the ultimate street tire at the retail level. Named “ADVAN A052”, the new tire was initially developed as a sport tire for circuit and gymkhana events. It will be available at the retail level from July 2016. ADVAN A052 will be initially available in 16 sizes, from 16 inches to 18 inches.

The “ADVAN A052” is a worthy successor to the “ADVAN A048”, which was positioned as the ultimate street sport tire. In comparison to the “ADVAN A048″, ADVAN A052 offers better cornering performance and handling, delivering outstanding grip in both wet and dry conditions. The tread design of the A052 tire is inspired by that of “ADVAN A051T” the tarmac rally tire that was used in many rallies held in n Europe, as well as the renowned “YOKOHAMA A008” tire that attained a legendary status in the rallying field. Advan A052 also confirms to the norms that have been set by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe for rolling sound emissions through ECE Regulation No.117 Revision 2 (R117-02), which has begun to be enforced in Europe.

The Advan series is Yokohama’s flagship brand and the range includes “ADVAN Sport V105” which has been used as the OE fitment for the high-performance cars of many manufacturers. “ADVAN NEOVA AD08R” is another rtire in the series that has made a name for itself as a street sports tire. “ADVAN dB” is positioned as a premium comfort tire. True to Yokohama’s tagline “Pursuit of Driving Pleasure” the tires belonging to the ADVAN range are notable for their use in motorsports and in models known for their powerful performance. This year, ADVAN tires have also been finalized as the control tires for the ultimate Formula racing series in Asia, the Japanese SUPER FORMULA Championship series.
