Michelin has announced that it will be joining hands with Aviall, a subsidiary of Boeing to increase its reach in the aviation sector. The two companies have signed a global strategic collaboration agreement. As part of the deal, Michelin’s aircraft tire business will benefit from Aviall’s global distribution network. This will help Michelin to optimize its logistics and supply chain models in order to improve its services to fleet operators, FBOs (field-base operators) and MROs (maintenance, repair and operations) in different parts of the world.
Speaking about the agreement, Frank Moreau, president of Michelin Aircraft Tire, said that the company has a longstanding history of collaborating with Aviall, but the new strategic alliance between the two companies would help Michelin to get its tires to retail customers in the aircraft industry more efficiently and thus increase its business.
Eric Strafel, president and chief executive officer of Aviall, on his part said that the deal with Michelin will help the company to increase its reach in the market through key alliances. He said that the collaboration with Michelin would help the company to cater better to its customers.
Aviall is the largest provider in the world of parts and aftermarket services in the aviation sector. The company’s sales and distribution network extends to over 240 manufacturers and its catalog has over 2 million items that are distributed through 40 customer service outlets spread across Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
