In a bid to boost brand awareness, renowned Indian tire manufacturer, JK Tyres, held the second edition of the Off Road Awards at Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon on December 10, 2015. The awards were held for the first time in Pune in 2014.The winners of the awards were selected after stringent scrutiny by a 10-member expert jury panel who picked the winners based on their performance with regard to predefined criteria like ride comfort, all-terrain capability, practicality, design, desirability and suitability for road conditions in India.
The awards were given in nine categories including SUVs, compact SUVs, performance SUVs, premium luxury vehicles, full size luxury vehicles, compact luxury category, crossovers, bikes and offroader of the year.
The event was held in collaboration with Evo India and was attended by all major automotive manufacturers. JK Tyres has been highly active in the motorsports and off road arena in India and this new initiative by the company will go a long way in increasing customer awareness about the popular brand of tires.
The company had also recently launched its range of premium all-terrain tires for SUVs called the Ranger series. Speaking at the award ceremony, Dr Raghupati Singhania, chairman and managing director of JK Tyres congratulated the winners and said that India is well on its way to being recognized as a global automotive hub with offroading becoming increasingly popular across the country. He added that this is what prompted JK Tyres to launch the Ranger series.
