Goodyear December 7th, 2017, at FCA’s annual supplier conference which was held at the Auditorium G. Agnelli Lingotto in Turin, Goodyear became the first tire manufacturer to win the “Chassis Supplier of the Year” award from the renowned Italian-American car manufacturer.
FCA said in a statement that Goodyear won the award thanks to its customer oriented approach across many aspects of the business and its commitment to supporting in a manner that combined flexibility, transparency and a profound sense of urgency.
Commenting on the award, Nick Harley, Managing Director for Original Equipment, Consumer Tires EMEA said that Goodyear was excited about winning the award as it marked the first time that a tire manufacturer has won the FCA Supplier of the Year award for the whole Chassis sector. He said that the company achieved this mainly due to the strong commitment of the Goodyear cross-functional team which worked on a daily basis to provide FCA with outstanding products and services, that are developed to cater to their specific requirements.
Nick Harley received the award at the supplier conference from Alfredo Altavilla, COO EMEA and member of GEC (Group Executive Council), Monica Genovese, Head of Group Purchasing EMEA, and Edoardo Calarco, Head of EMEA Chassis & Engine System Purchasing Unit.
During 2017, Goodyear further strengthened its partnership with FCA and won several OE fitments from FCA for new models including the following:
• Goodyear supplied the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 SUV tire for the first ever Maserati SUV, the Maserati Levante • the Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV was fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 SUV • the Alfa Romeo Giulia got the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 ROF and the EfficientGrip Performance tires as OE fitment • the Jeep Renegade was fitted with EfficientGrip SUV and Vector 4Seasons • the Fiat 500X equipped with EfficientGrip Performance and Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2.
