Bridgestone earned the rank of the top tire manufacturer in the world for the tenth straight year. The company was ranked as #1 in the 2018 version of the Global Tire rankings by Tire Business.
Companies were ranked on the basis of their revenue from their sale of tires. A rigorous selection process was used to screen the companies that made it to the list and revenue from items like third-party sales of steel cord, synthetic rubber or carbon black, and estimates of revenue from non-tire items like auto-service-related revenue at company-owned retail stores were excluded from the revenue figures.
Commenting on this achievement, Mete Ekin, Regional Managing Director, Bridgestone MEA said that it was a truly significant achievement. He went on to express the company’s appreciation and gratitude to Tire Business for recognizing Bridgestone’s work for the 10th consecutive year. He said that Bridgestone would not have achieved this feat without its extensive global workforce of about 143,000 employees, its business partners and of course, the consumers themselves. ”In our ever-changing world, we see social, economical, and technological opportunities evolving and shaping the future of mobility. This accomplishment is a testimony to our commitment towards continuous innovation and to become ‘Dan Totsu’ – to be the clear and absolute leader in Mobility Solutions,” he added.
Attaining this ranking for the tenth consecutive year reinforces the high quality of Bridgestone products and services and aligns well with the company’s mission of ‘Serving Society with Superior Quality’ through solutions that will eventually lead to a better, ‘well connected’ society.
