As part of the Nissan Patrol 70th Anniversary competition and marking a milestone in the Year of Patrol celebrations, three lucky winners from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia have driven home a 2022 Nissan Patrol 70th Anniversary model. The competition, run by Nissan Middle East and in collaboration with their local partners, saw fans and owners from across the region share images and inspirational stories of their Patrols on a dedicated microsite for a chance to win the iconic 70th Anniversary model. Since its launch in early September, the competition garnered over 885 entries, proving the region’s admiration of the iconic SUV and its deeply rooted heritage. Following shortlisting and technical inspections, three participants from each market were nominated to go head-to-head in an online public vote, which saw over 12,000 votes decide the lucky winners of a 2022 Nissan Patrol 70th Anniversary model in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia. Abdulilah Wazni, Director of Marketing & Product, Nissan Middle East, said: “Through this competition we have not only celebrated an icon, but also brought to life fond memories our customers have built over the years with their Patrol. Passed on from one generation to the next, the Patrol is more than a vehicle, it is a culture that has weaved itself into the social fabric and become an integral part of the region and its people. As we conclude this phase of the competition, I’d like to congratulate the winners and thank all those who participated in making it a success.” Increasing public awareness and excitement, the competition was run in collaboration with ArabGT.com, the largest online automotive network in the Arab world. Dedicated videos inviting the public to participate in the competition, along with videos showcasing the shortlisted participants and technical inspections were created and shared on various social platforms to boost engagement across the region. Anas Ibrahim Abdulhaq Khalil, winner of the competition in Abu Dhabi, was thrilled at winning the 2022 Nissan Patrol 70th Anniversary model. Attending the handover ceremony at the Nissan Showroom for Al Masaood Automobiles (AMA) – the exclusive distributor of Nissan in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, Khalil said: “I’ve never felt like this before, I’m happy and I don’t know how to express my feelings. Thank you to all those who voted for me!” Attending the handover ceremony at the Nissan Showroom for Arabian Automobiles Company (AAC) – the exclusive distributor of Nissan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Mohammed Ejas Ellias, winner of the competition in Dubai, said: “I’m super excited, I never expected this. I was already a huge fan of the Patrol and now I have one more reason to be. When I participated in this competition, I never thought I would be standing here and that too as the winner, so a big thank you to Nissan Middle East, Nissan Dubai, and ArabGT.” Mishaal Hammoud Al Roqi, winner of the competition in Saudi Arabia who received his 2022 Nissan Patrol 70th Anniversary model, said: “This phase of the competition went on for a while and I’m not sure how I managed to wait three months but clearly it was worth the wait. It is such a great honor to win this Patrol and I really didn’t expect it!” The Nissan Patrol 70th Anniversary Competition is part of the Year of Patrol, a year-long celebration marking the 70th anniversary of the legendary SUV, which also saw the launch of #PatrolLegends – a campaign that celebrates drivers behind the wheel. Signaling a new chapter in the Nissan NEXT transformation plan and in its SUV dominance across the Middle East, Nissan launched the 2022 Patrol 70th Anniversary model at the Al Wasl Plaza on the grounds of Expo 2020 Dubai, in the presence of Ashwani Gupta, Chief Operating Officer, Nissan Motor Corporation, commemorating the Patrol’s heritage in the region and worldwide.
