The BMW M8 Competition is without a doubt one of the greatest weapons BMW M has in its arsenal: With a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 packing 625 hp (441 kW) and 750 Nm, this model – which comes in the shape of a Coupé (F92), Cabriolet (F91) or four-door Gran Coupé (F93) – is one of the top athletes fresh from the factory. And for those who want even more power and a touch of individuality, G-POWER is the perfect partner: For more than 35 years, this brand has been providing first-class power upgrades and various customization options for high-octane BMW top models. Within weeks of the M8 Competition being unleashed onto the market, the development department at G-POWER had gathered a great deal of experience with the car and become a true M8 champion: A large number of clients entrusted the team from Bavaria with their pride-and-joy – with specimens from the entire body-style spectrum – and had them converted into the G-POWER G8M Bi-TURBO. G-POWER is offering three different power upgrade levels: The starter package provides an already impressive 720 hp (529 kW) and a maximum torque of 850 Nm thanks to G-POWER’s GP-720 Performance Software. One step up and GP-770 Performance Software is combined with downpipes and sports catalytic converters (optionally also downpipes without sports catalytic converters), which reduce the exhaust back pressure: In this case, the driver can look forward to 770 hp (566 kW) and 930 Nm. If that does not quite cut it, customers can choose the top variant, which packs no less than 820 hp (603 kW) and 1,000 Nm! This boost of 250 Nm and almost 200 hp over the series is achieved using GP-820 Performance Software and several hardware adjustments: In addition to the downpipes with or without sports catalytic converters, this includes a new-andimproved turbocharger with a larger compressor wheel, superior turbine wheel and CNC-milled housings as well as a titanium exhaust system. The exhaust system comes with carbon-coated tailpipes and produces a roar reminiscent of a thoroughbred race car. G-POWER is also offering cosmetic enhancements and individual touches for the G8M Bi-TURBO: The absolute highlight is the G-POWER GP-VENTURI RRCarbon hood. Its design is heavily inspired by motor sport, giving it an authentic look while also dispelling any doubt as to the potential of the G8M Bi-TURBO. Thanks to the “DYNAMIC VENTING” technology, the air flow in and out of the engine bay has been improved. The hood thus ensures an optimal temperature range for the engine and provides the perfect conditions for the various power packages. At the same time, they bring down the vehicle’s weight and optimize its aerodynamic downforce. To round it all off, G-POWER have used their own tried-and-tested HURRICANE RR rims forged from super-light yet ultra-strong 6061 aluminum, which is used in the aerospace industry. The double-spoke wheels measure 21” and are fitted with 285/30 ZR21 and 295/30 ZR21 Michelin tires. And for the finish, the customer has the choice of several different styles, including Jet Black, Gun Metal Grey and Stardust Silver – all with or without Diamond Cut.
