Yanfeng Automotive Interiors (YFAI), which is a global leader when it comes to automotive interiors has opened a new plant in South Bohemia in the Czech Republic. The opening of the new plant in in Planá nad Luznicí which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology was attended by many high-ranking officials, industry representatives and Czech politicians. Over the next few years, the company is planning to recruit 500 new employees.
Commenting on the new plant, Johannes Roters, Chief Executive Officer for YFAI said that as the market leader in global automotive interiors, the company is experiencing very strong business growth and has immense potential to sustain this growth in the future. This prompted Yanfeng Interiors to invest further in its European locations and expand its manufacturing base in the Czech Republic. The new factory is located in Planá nad Luznicí, South Bohemia, close to Tabor and will engage in the production of instrument panels and door panels for passenger cars. Jochen Heier, Vice President & General Manager Europe & South Africa for YFAI said that the Planá nad Luznicí facility will add additional capacity to Yanfeng’s existing production capacity. The company will gradually start to ramp up production till the plant can start operations and mass production by early 2018.
The Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, and guest of honor at the opening, H.E. Mrs MA Keqing, said in her speech, “Successful business relations depend on a variety of economic and political factors. We appreciate the stable relations between the Czech Republic and the People’s Republic of China, which allows companies to expand and grow, combining the best of both countries.”
As production increases in the coming years, Yanfeng Automotive Interiors will become one of the largest employers in the Tabor region. The company already has 170 employees at its new plant and will expand the workforce to 300 by the beginning of 2018.
In the CEE region, in addition to the new plant, the company already has a Technical Center in Trencín, Slovakia, and recently opened the Automotive Business Center in Bratislava (SK) a few weeks ago. Yangfeng also has a plant in Zatec that makes door panels, floor consoles and other automotive interior components as well as production sites in Pápa (HU) and Námestovo (SK). With these existing sites and the new plant which is being constructed in Planá nad Luznicí (CZ), the company can meet all customer requirements in the CEE region and support the company’s growth plans in Europe.
