Visteon Corporation, which specializes in the automotive cockpit electronics segment is all set to showcase its innovations for connected cars at the 2017 International Automobile Industry Exhibition in Shanghai. The company is a key player in this category and has several big clients in China. The 2017 International Automobile Industry Exhibition is scheduled to be held from April 19 to April 23.
The company will be showcasing its technology at its booth as well as inside many of the cars and trucks from Chinese and global brands that will be on display at the Auto Shanghai 2017 show.
At the Visteon booth, the spotlight will be on the company’s new next-generation infotainment platform, Phoenix, which fosters innovation with an interface that allows third-party developers to create apps easily, all while delivering built-in cybersecurity and over-the-air updates. Phoenix is the first such automotive infotainment system that comes with a software development kit (SDK) and software simulation. It is based on HTML5 and offers a JavaScript-based application program interface (API).
Other interesting Visteon products include a diverse range of eye-catching instrument clusters and information displays that will serve as the primary interface with consumers in the all-digital cockpit that tomorrow’s smart cars will have.
SmartCore also on display Visteon will be using the show to showcase what it claims is the industry’s first automotive-grade integrated domain controller approach, called SmartCore which is meant to reduce the cost and complexity of in-vehicle electronics by independently operating multiple features on one System on Chip (SoC). SmartCore gives automotive manufacturers a chance to integrate infotainment, instrument clusters, information displays, head-up displays, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and connectivity all in one cost-effective, space-saving cockpit electronics solution.
Speaking about the company’s participation in the show, Sachin Lawande, Visteon president and CEO said that China is not only the largest automotive market in the world, but is also Visteon’s largest and fastest-growing market. Right now, cockpit electronics is the most important technology segment that affects the future of mobility.
He viewed Auto Shanghai 2017 as the ideal venue to demonstrate how Visteon is transforming the future of mobility and accelerating improvements in vehicle security, safety and the driving experience.
Luke Lu, managing director for Visteon China, added: “It is our great pleasure to participate in the 2017 International Automobile Industry Exhibition in Shanghai.
