Renowned design and technology services company Tata Elxsi has won the prestigious Jaguar Land Rover Supplier Excellence Award for 2017.
The Jaguar Land Rover Supplier Excellence Award is meant to recognize those companies which consistently demonstrate technical innovation, on-time delivery, high quality standards, and consistently meet production and design challenges while meeting Jaguar Land Rover‘s stringent standards.
Tata Elxsi has a longstanding partnership with Jaguar Land Rover and the two companies have worked together for more than 16 years now. In fact, Tata Elxsi set up an Offshore Development Center for Jaguar Land Rover in 2008, to provide the auto manufacturer on an exclusive basis with design, technology and engineering services, ranging from advanced R&D to software and engineering for production programs and complete vehicle program management.
Tata Elxsi was recognized with the award for its part in developing an innovative industry-first feature that is currently available in Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. Tata Elxsi was dealt with the A-Z development of this module, including its application, base software, integration and testing. The design comprises a scalable common architecture, and hence can be used across multiple variants and programs. Hence Jaguar Land Rover not only benefited from complete ownership of the software and a differentiated feature for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, but also had significant cost and weight savings.
Commenting on the award, Anil Sondur, executive vice-president, Tata Elxsi, said that the company being recognized with the Jaguar Land Rover Supplier Excellence Award highlighted the fact that Tata Elxsi is strategically aligned to Jaguar Land Rover’s vision and roadmap, and is in sync with the JLR’s commitment to design and technology. He concluded by saying that the company took great pride in supporting Jaguar Land Rover to achieve its goals of building cars that combine superlative technology with distinctive design.
