Just recently, Standard Motor Products, Inc. (SMP) has announced the addition of 197 new part numbers to its Standard® and Intermotor® lines. The parts expand coverage through the 2015 model year covering over 60 million extra vehicles in operation (VIO).
The highlight of the release is the addition of 110 SKUs to the company’s diesel line, including new product categories and line expansions to existing categories. Included in the new key categories are diesel fuel injector lines, diesel fuel injection pump installation kits, and diesel fuel transfer pumps, while 13 new diesel high pressure oil pumps and 33 new diesel fuel injectors are included in key line expansions. All in all, the diesel additions expand coverage by 20 million VIO.
Other additions are 35 new turbocharger SKUs for both gas and diesel applications, and a number of first-to-aftermarket parts, including a transmission control solenoid with over three million VIO.
Moreover, Standard Motor Products increased switch coverage by an extra 10 million with the launch of 29 SKUs, including heated seat switches, ignition, power window, and four-wheel-drive selector. Rounding out the release, the company added 15 new integrated door lock actuators, and two TPMS kits to coincide with the QWIK-SENSOR promotion that kicked off on March 1.
Commenting on the new additions, Phil Hutchens, Vice President Engine Management Marketing, SMP, said that their latest new item release showcases their continued commitment to turbochargers and diesel. He added that with multiple new product categories and huge line expansions, they are thrilled to supply their customers with the coverage and quality they demand.
