Rightware, an esteemed provider of user interface software for the automotive industry has recently joined forces with Renesas Electronics Corp., a top supplier of innovative semiconductor solutions, on a demonstration presenting the capabilities of Rightware Kanzi® and Renesas’ R-Car p System-on-a-Chip (SoC). The demo shows a high-fidelity configurable digital cluster with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and infotainment features, and displays the powerful graphics capabilities of the Imagination Technologies’ PowerVR™ GX6650 graphics processing unit (GPU) and R-Car p system-on-chip (SoC).
Rightware and Renesas have already secured a number of automotive design wins for series production, where Rightware’s Kanzi® software is being utilized for the development of Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) running on the Renesas R-Car platform.
Renesas has joined Rightware’s Kanzi Partner Program as a founding member. The program is an international ecosystem of companies working together to develop the future of digital HMIs using Kanzi.
In a statement, Jonas Geust, CEO at Rightware, said that they are delighted to announce the partnership with Renesas. He noted that the R-Car product family is a great match for their Kanzi software, enabling their customers to design and develop HMIs with superior performance and high-quality graphics. “We look forward to several more series production wins together.”
Meanwhile, Masahiro Suzuki, Vice President, head of Automotive Information System Business pision at Renesas Electronics Corporation, said that they are thrilled to collaborate with Rightware. He explained that their Kanzi HMI demo running on their R-Car p SoC is a great showcase of the powerful capabilities of the R-Car platform. “We will continue to work with Rightware on future graphics technologies and look forward to more automotive design wins together.”
