Aupeo GmbH, a subsidiary of Panasonic, has recently teamed up with Triton Digital. Through this tie-up, Panasonic OneConnect will employ Triton Digital’s advertising platform, Tap OnDemand, to insert targeted advertisements into the personalized audio messages delivered within the Personal Radio by AUPEO!® content delivery service. This integration allows both automakers and brand partners to offer motorists personalized audio messages and out of the vehicle to support a range of driving and mobility use cases.
David Taylor, director, connected services, Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America, and CEO, Aupeo GmbH, said that Panasonic turned to triton’s Tap OnDemand advertising platform due to its flexible and robust targeting capabilities. He claimed that they share a common vision and see the automobile as the next major device in the ‘Internet of Things.’ “Together, we want to uniquely position car manufacturers and their brand partners as we transition to a new era of mobility-based transportation.”
Commenting on the collaboration with OneConnect by Panasonic, Neal Schore, CEO of Triton Digital, said that it offers an engaging and pertinent in-car listening experience. He noted that the opportunity to inform, engage and entertain through the dashboard is growing, and they are proud to support Panasonic and Aupeo in leading that charge.
The partnership between the two companies offers car manufacturers the ability to communicate service promotions, brand messages, and other customized content directly to the driver or consumers. For instance, the OneConnect platform can communicate the operational status of the vehicle in an audio format that makes it easy for the driver to grasp the relative significance of a vehicle indicator or status light. Moreover, the platform can enable follow-up actions, such as setting a destination or reminder or dialing a phone number. The driver can take these actions with just a voice command or a single click.
Based on driver interaction with the system, the OneConnect platform can make visible unused but valuable features, as well as trigger messages based on location, type of vehicle status. For instance, a message could be played to all drivers with a certain software version to initiate an update, or to all vehicles within 50 miles of a dealer that have an active check engine light to provide a service discount. The platform is claimed to report successful message playback and follow through action metrics.
OneConnect platform is also designed to keep the drivers not only informed, but also entertained and focused on the road ahead, while simultaneously opening up the potential for new interactions and in-vehicle e-commerce opportunities.
