In addition to high quality tires, Goodyear is also supporting OTEM with its innovative Drivepoint system, enabling the company to optimize its fleet running costs.
A leader in the transport and heavy equipment maintenance service provider sector, OTEM serves numerous regional and international companies in the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) east coast region.
Recognizing the importance of high quality and durable tires to its operations, OTEM awarded a multi-year contract to Swaidan Trading Company (STC), Goodyear’s official distributor in the UAE. As a result, Goodyear tires will make up to almost half of OTEM’s annual tire consumption.
As part of the contract, Goodyear has installed the yard-based DrivePoint system at OTEM’s fleet deployment yard in Fujairah. Drivepoint is an innovative digital automated tire pressure monitoring system that is designed to reduce, among other things, inaccuracies and labor costs arising from manual checks of tire pressure. Utilizing technology to read sensors which have been installed into fleet vehicle tires, the Goodyear Drivepoint enables OTEM’s fleet managers to get accurate and real-time tire pressure readings every time a vehicle enters or exits the fleet yard.
“This partnership with Goodyear and STC will enable us to achieve real efficiency gains in our operations,” said Engr.Osama Abdul Haleem, Maintenance & Transport Manager, OTEM. “Coupled with the ability to have accurate and up-to-date data on our fleet’s tire health, we have gained a competitive advantage in our deployment process.”
Saban Gungor, General Manager, Goodyear Middle East & Africa, said, “Goodyear has a proud 125-year legacy of delivering high quality tire products to our fleet customers around the world. We continue in our mission to be a trusted mobility partner to fleets like OTEM in the UAE with our expanded proactive tire solution offerings to support their ambition and digital transformation.”
“As a leader in the UAE automotive sector, we are pleased to play a role in supporting OTEM on its growth journey in the country,” said Shameem MP, General Manager of Swaidan Trading – Allied Product Division.
