Continental, the world’s leading manufacturer of top quality automotive aftermarket products, has recently rolled out an expanded offering of timing belt kits to the North American market.
According to Tom Lee, Continental’s marketing manager for North American aftermarket products, the expanded offering of Elite branded kits would offer customized solutions for the warehouse distributor. He noted that their portfolio would expand from two to four lines and offer the market with import and domestic solutions for both early and late model vehicles.
Slated to hit the market in January next year, Continental’s tiered line of Elite timing belt kits will include the following:
Elite kit without water pump
Elite Series kit with water pump
Elite Pro Series kit with OE quality components, water pump and The Pro Series Guarantee
Elite Pro Series Plus kit with OE quality components, cam and balance shaft seals, water pump, and The Pro Series Guarantee
Lee revealed that over 500 SKUs would be available covering over 8,300 applications. He explained that on average, it takes around two to four hours to complete a timing belt repair whether professional repair technicians replace just the belt or all the corresponding parts at the same time. “Since the time and difficulty is already allocated to do the repair, the return on labor hours is greater when changing the entire timing belt component system.”
To solve this problem, Continental Elite Pro and Pro Series Plus timing belt kits come with all the synchronous parts required to do a timing belt repair quickly and efficiently. This enables professional repair technicians to use just one box to do the job, thereby giving drivers a safe and reliable product that stands the test of time.
From the belt to the idler and/or tensioner, all Continental Elite Timing Belt Kits come with OE-quality components for over 8,300 applications.
Lee concluded that many of their kits surpass OEM quality specifications, adding that with over 550 belt kits to choose from, they offer he broadest program coverage in the market and a new guarantee program that matches the manufacturer’s service interval up to 100,000 miles.
Continental’s Elite Timing Belt Kits are available for both domestic and import applications.
