MG Motor has launched its innovative new iLink application to the Middle East market, making life easier for its growing number of customers. This smart phone application is the first application in the Middle East market which offers customers both dynamic and service features in one app, and users benefit from having a direct connection to their car. They can use the app to monitor their driving history, receive service reminders, be alerted if their car is damaged, and track their vehicle.
The innovative smart application is compatible with all MG models and helps ensure that motorists do not miss any services as it reminds customers when a service is required. Users can track their vehicle using geo-location identification, is they lend their vehicle to a friend or are unable to find their vehicle in a car park. MG iLink is the only application in the market to offer punch sensor technology, which alerts the driver if their vehicle is damaged, whether it is parked or being driven by a friend or a valet driver.
Customers will be able to use MG iLink to step into a pre-cooled vehicle during the summer, as they can turn on the engine and thus the air conditioning using the app before they get into the car. During prolonged periods when the vehicle is not in use, the application can be used to schedule a time for the engine to be turned on for an hour every day.
The ‘driving history’ feature can be used to monitor driving behavior, and through MG iLink, customers would be able to download a daily report which keeps tabs on how much fuel they have used over a particular period, the locations visited and fuel costs. This would help them to enhance safety and maximize fuel efficiency.
Tom Lee, Managing Director, SAIC Motor Middle East said that MG iLink is being launched specifically for the Middle East market. The application is meant to make life easier and provide peace of mind for MG’s customers and comes with pioneering technology that reinforces MG Motor’s commitment to being at the forefront of technology and innovation within the car industry.
SAIC has revived the fortunes of MG Motor since it acquired the brand. Earlier in 2018, MG Motor had launched two new SUV models as part of its range in the Middle East, the MG RX5 compact SUV and the MG ZS SUV, to complement its existing MG GS and MG 360 models.
