Reports say that Lite-On Technology will boost the revenue proportion for automotive electronics, including collision prevention sensors, LED automotive lighting (taillights, headlights, in-car lights and brake-lights), heads-up displays, driver-assist around-view cameras, and actuating motors, to 10%-15% in 2018.
In a statement, company CEO Warren Chen said that, however, the sales of parts and components for cloud servers and optoelectronics products as well as high-end storage devices and camera modules will continue to serve as growth drivers for the company this year.
Chen is anticipating the cloud server market to perform strongly and attain a dynamic growth this year, spurring up a demand for innovative stand-by batteries, storage devices, chassis and power management systems.
Currently, Lite-On Technology holds a 10 percent share in the global automotive lighting market, and the company targets to ramp up the ratio to 20 percent during the 2016 to 2017 period.
Last year, revenues for in-car electronic products reached more than NT$10 billion (US$309.42 million) accounting for five percent of total revenues for the year.
