Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans to begin construction of a new Parts Distribution Centre in Jebel Ali, Dubai. Construction of the center which is meant to help the company to cater to the needs of its customers across the Middle East and North Africa will begin in the first quarter of 2020. The distribution center is scheduled to be operational during the first quarter of 2021.
The new center will make it possible for Jaguar Land Rover to meet the projected growth in demand for parts and accessories during the next decade and beyond. This demand will be driven by the projected increase in the demand for cars in the region. The new distribution center will be located at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA).
From 2014, Jaguar Land Rover has operated a regional aftermarket Parts Distribution Centre in Jebel Ali. This center supplies genuine components to nine MENA markets but needed to be scaled up. Operations will be moved from the current site to the new facility on a gradual basis in November 2020, to ensure minimal disruption to customers.
The new facility will provide 19,000 sq metres of storage capacity, and there is an option to expand this space to 30,000 sq metres in the future. This larger space will facilitate the storage and distribution of approximately 32,000 part numbers, including Jaguar Land Rover’s branded merchandise. The new facility will deal with all inbound, warehousing, scheduling, and distribution tasks, and is expected to streamline the flow of parts to retail partners across the region, thus enhancing customer service.
Commenting on the new facility, Bruce Robertson, Managing Director Jaguar Land Rover MENA said that the new distribution center will serve as a key element of the company’s regional expansion plans. It recognizes the importance of offering first-class aftersales service, of which one of the key ingredients is rapid parts supply. He said that the increased storage capacity of the new facility will ensure that Jaguar Land Rover’s retail partners, and subsequently its customers, will always be able to receive a fast and efficient response, irrespective of the model they own. According to Robertson, the new center highlights Jaguar Land Rover’s long-term commitment to the MENA region, and has been developed to keep pace with the projected growth of the market in the years to come.
Robertson concluded, “It will also makes sure that as our reach widens, we’ll maintain an exceptional service for Jaguar Land Rover’s discerning customers across the region.”
Paul Lane, Customer Service Director, Jaguar Land Rover MENA said that the complete range of Jaguar Land Rover parts and accessories is available through its distributors in nine regional markets, it is a big operation to supply them all. The new facility with its increased capacity will make it better equipped to do so and would reinforce its ‘customer first’ commitment through the timely availability of genuine Jaguar Land Rover components.
Lane said, “We always emphasise the importance of choosing original parts and accessories for any model in our portfolio, as they come with a seal of authenticity. This enables us and our distributors to honour warranties on our products, leaving our customers with total peace of mind while saving them money.”
Genuine, proven, quality-tested original parts and accessories for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles are available to customers throughout the MENA region from official distributors.
