Infiniti has announced that it will be debuting a new-generation infotainment system for its key 2020 models. The brand will be revamping Q50, Q60, QX50 and its flagship QX80 for the 2020 model year and owners will now have access to an array of new functionality. Infiniti will retain the name ‘INFINITI InTouch™’ for its HD twin-screen system and make improvements that are meant to enhance the driving experience and provide better connectivity to motorists while they are on the move.
The improvements to INFINITI InTouch will include a more user-friendly interface with the aid of a new, faster processor. The outcome will be an enhanced user experience for drivers. Another addition is the new Bluetooth module that will work in tandem with the new HD Microphone for delivery of better clarity during phone calls and voice commands and will also ensure better connection stability.
In the case of Infiniti models which come with the INFINITI InTouch with Navigation, the infotainment functionality will expand to incorporate 3D maps with one-shot destination input. This would make it easier to select and identify points of interest.
Apple CarPlay® will be offered feature as a standard feature on 2020 Infiniti models that will have the updated infotainment system. Users will now be able to connect seamlessly with their compatible smartphones through USB to gain access to a wide a range of apps and selected smartphone features on the car’s infotainment touchscreen. This will include making calls, sending and receiving messages, navigation and listening to music. Thus, it will now be easier than ever for customers to enjoy all the features of their iPhone while paying greater attention to the road with their hands on the steering wheel with Siri Eyes Free. Motorists can operate their smartphone with voice commands and will not need to look at the touchscreen to change a track, or make a phone call.
