Music can ease the strain and monotony of any long drive and a vehicle’s audio system plays a crucial role in a motorist’s in-car experience. Harman International is currently working with different car manufacturers to create custom listening experiences that are just right for every brand. The car-audio systems manufacturer has come up with an app that will help music-loving motorists to understand whether a vehicle’s sound signature is just what they need.
Harman has a number of sound systems in its extensive portfolio that can suit a wide range of automotive brands. It paired Mark Levinson with Lexus, Bang&Olufsen with Audi, Mark Levinson with Lexus and JBL with Toyota. In each case Harman worked hand in hand with the automotive companies to optimize the music experience for consumers.
Bill Wyman, vice president of global marketing-car audio for Harman International said that it is now becoming more and more prevalent for the car audio to become a differentiating factor between different models. Automakers can leverage the power of a good brand to help strengthen the position of their own brand.
Instead of talking about the specific details of the sound system when promoting their new model, all they need to do is to mention the brand of the audio system. For example, Harman helped to redesign the door structures of Lincoln models for enhancing the music experience and the Revel brand was used for the MKX model. The same goes for other reputable brands like JBL or Mark Levinson.
Audi has become one of Harman’s partners as Harman recently acquired the Bang & Olufsen brand. According to Wyman, customers automatically associate both brands with forward thinking, design elements and a high level of sophistication.
